of an idea and a dream that became a reality and a success. It began as a hobby making ladders, lawn furniture, rebuilding farm sleighs, and turning out whiffle trees, neck yokes, etc. But soon it turned into a business, and Earle had to decide whether to stay in farming or concentrate on his natural love for the tools and woodworking trade. In 1946 Earle purchased the Bert Tupling Fix-It Shop, a building 28'x45'. and on April 1, 1947, Ziegler Woodworking and Supplies started its business. Port Elgin continued to grow, as more people purchased lots and built homes.
In 1957, land was purchased for the new premises of Ziegler Lumber on the property next to the existing building.
From 1946 to the present day, Ziegler Lumber continues to provide small-town personal attention along with a very wide range of products to meet all your building needs.
